I joined Classic Challenge as Managing Director in 2014 after spending 7 years in Singapore where amongst other things I founded the cycle events company Cycosports. I have spent 20 years working in the oil and gas industry which has taken me all over the world and given me plenty of inspiration for new challenges. I love the outdoors and am passionate about cycling, hiking, sailing, skiing and golf.
The next challenge I'd like to go on is Fat Biking... anywhere in the Arctic! I think it would be a hard challenge and great fun too!
Having joined Classic Challenge last year as a Travel and Events Co-ordinator, I have enjoyed seeing a season of events out the door and loved every minute. Using my degree in Event Management and my passion for organised chaos, I have enjoyed being part of the office team and out on events. I am looking forward to being part of a London to Paris team this summer and hopefully will extend this further afield.
My bucketlist challenge would be trekking the Inca Trail in Peru.
I’ve been Business Development Manager at Classic Challenge for the last year. Having finished university after studying Tourism Management, I worked in construction for over 9 years putting my passion for travel on the back burner. I moved to my current role after working as a Travel and Events Co-ordinator and helped on numerous events and found that I love the buzz at registration and dishing out chocolate bars on break stops! I love trekking and have completed the Isle of Wight coastal walk and climbed Snowdon, and Scarfell Pike with Ben Nevis booked in this summer!
My next challenge I’d like to go on would be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro or the Frontline Walk!
I joined Classic Challenge in 2016 as the Nightrider Assistant. My background is in event and conference organising and I have spent many years working with charities, both from the charity’s side and the corporate side. I have lived and worked in America, Australia and Singapore and am lucky to have been able to travel extensively for both work and play. Among my favourite places are Boston, Dunsborough, Cambodia and Rome. This year I’m heading out to work on the ABF The Soldiers’ Society Frontline Walk, as well as the three Nightrider events.
I’m the newest member of the Classic Challenge team, from working at Hertfordshire Students Union, after completing a degree in Event Management. I’m excited to be part of the team and learn in my position of Travel and Events Co-ordinator. Having been on a student fundraising challenge to Thailand a few years ago, my passion for charity and travel has led to me finding myself in charity challenge events.
My bucketlist challenge would be the Arctic Wilderness Challenge - it just looks amazing!
I began working for Classic Challenge in 1996 and over the years have held a number of diverse roles within the company, including operational positions which have taken me to a number of fascinating destinations, resulting in some fantastic experiences! I am now the company’s Financial Controller, with responsibility for the company accounts and expenditure. I’m well experienced in the travel events field and the extent and range of my knowledge gives me a great overview of the business and what we deliver for our clients!
The next challenge I would like to go on, would be cycling around more remote China, visiting such as the Terracotta Army.
Since joining Classic Challenge in 2001 after my degree in Sport Science and Geography, I’ve been lucky enough to work in several roles. I’m now a Senior Manager responsible for our exciting Nightrider™ series of events. It’s a challenge, but I love creating an event, putting all the components in place and then seeing everyone on the night have a fantastic experience. My favourite challenge was my first – cycling along the Nile in Egypt staying in a cruise boat each night!
I joined Classic Challenge in 2013 and am now a Project Manager. My interest in charity challenges started at school when I took part in a fundraising expedition to Mongolia. Since then I have travelled extensively around Europe and after university embarked on a round-the-world-trip, spending much of my time in South America and Asia. Among my travel highlights so far have been cycling in the Himalayas, trekking the Inca Trail and scuba diving in Thailand and The Philippines. Since being at Classic I have trekked up Kilimanjaro and cycled in Kerala and Burma.
Next item on the bucket list is... I'll get back to you on that.
